Waterworks – indoor plant caring made a whole lot easier

Ever worried about under or over watering your plants. Either can be fatal! Not anymore a new system allows you to water your indoor plants easily with just the right amount of water they need, when they need it.

WATERWORKS is a hydration system that makes caring for your houseplants incredibly easy.

The Product

A set consists of a partly glazed terra-cotta cone and a glass bulb with cork stopper.

Because of the porous nature of the terra-cotta, water will slowly seep through the walls of the cone into the soil.

For plants that need less water, a larger part of the cone is glazed, decreasing the porous surface of the terra-cotta and slowing down the water-flow.

Basic Set

Comes with one medium sized cone.

Full Set

Some plants need less water during winter or more water when they're in bloom. With this WATERWORKS set with three cones you can make sure your houseplant gets the right amount of water every season

Close the top hole in the glass reservoir

with the cork (make sure it's airtight).

How to use?

Push the ceramic cone in the soil close

to the roots of your potted plant.

Fill the reservoir with water and place it

in the cone - refill when empty.

The design inspiration

What inspired us to make the Waterworks was simply we needed a solution for our own plants. Being incredibly busy designers with a young family and sometimes away from home and at the same time loving plants we were scratching our heads for a simple easy to use watering system for our indoor plants. Hey presto Waterworks was born!

The process

We’ve strived to make this a durable product with a long lifespan.

The terra-cotta cones are currently made by hand in our own studio, we’re looking to collaborate with a social workplace in the Netherlands to make them for us.

The Borosilicate glass reservoirs are hand blown in India. We’re working together with a company we have a good feeling about and are hoping to be able to visit the facility and see the production-process with our own eyes.

The extra hole with cork stopper is added purely for cleaning purposes so even after a long period of use the glass reservoir will still look shiny and new.
